- Use official DVSA materials so you’re learning the exact questions and rules you’ll be tested on: Highway Code – the core road rules you must know. DVSA theory test app or book – practice questions and mock tests. Hazard perception clips – train your reactions to real‑life road situations. Your instructor can help you focus on the areas you find hardest.
• Arrive 10–15 minutes early so you’re not rushed. Bring your provisional licence and any paperwork. Use the same car you’ve been learning in where possible. Take a few deep breaths and treat it like a normal lesson. We’ll make sure you know what to expect, from the eyesight check to driving routes around Manchester.
At the start and during your test, the examiner will ask simple car‑safety questions like: “Tell me how you’d check the tyres are safe to use.” “Show me how you’d wash and clean the rear windscreen.” We’ll practise all the official DVSA ‘show me, tell me’ questions together so you feel calm and ready.
